On a normal day in 2006, I woke up. My eyes opened quietly and I realized with horror that I was living someone else’s life. I was married to a man I barely liked, working a dead-end job in the same Midwestern town I was born in, and trapped under years of “shoulds” and “this is how things are dones.”
(Here’s my story…)
See, from the time I was a child, I’ve been an entrepreneur… I setup a store in my mom’s basement selling her handmade dolls… I did nails in high school… I cut hair in college… I sold jewelry at 20… I’ve always wanted that freedom. I was naturally a passionate storyteller, a free-spirited firecracker with an independent streak a country-mile wide.
Doing the thing everyone in my small country town did... marry the first guy that looks at you, live in the same zip code where you were born, do the motions of living, and then raise kids to do all that too?
That was NOT me. And, yet, I’d done exactly those things.
It was almost like I’d been programmed.
Scratch that, it was EXACTLY like I’d been programmed.
Not purposefully or maliciously, but that’s the schtick. We’ve all been programmed, and we all have to deal with it.
Not too long after I “woke up,” I discovered a little something called the Law of Attraction.
It came, of course, in the most sensationalized of ways: the movie “The Secret.” (Insert eye roll.)
What the “The Secret” did well was get you excited, and hey, I was young, trapped in my life, and yearning for SOMEthing…
I threw myself into the world of positive affirmations, visualization, and manifesting. I obsessively study as a character trait, and boy, that came in handy.
So, what happened?
Well, fast-forward two years from that first “wake up,” and I was living in San Diego, California, married to my now-husband - the most gorgeous and compassionate man I’ve ever known in my life, working a DREAM job, and feeling joyful and AWAKE in a way I’d never even known existed a few years before.
These days, I’m a long way off from that sleeping girl.
I’m married to my very best friend and the love of my life. We have the best kid a mama could ask for and still live on the West Coast (now Portland, OR).
I’ve worked for 15 years in corporate business, marketing, and entrepreneurship and am an advanced-certified Law of Attraction practitioner. Over the years, I’ve done a lot of trial and error on my entrepreneurial journey. It hasn’t been easy, but then I used to live an easy, "sleeper" life, so that’s alright by me.
Today, I help women get UNSTUCK, so that they can live passionately, feel more confident, and tap in to their divine power.
And, it's funny...
Despite all those years of marketing and selling for big companies, what I've realized is that I flourish (and so do my clients) when things are really simple.
Here's my business model in two easy steps:
1) Tell your story. Be authentic, transparent, and vulnerable.
2) Have GREAT conversations with incredible people. Don't sell, just talk.
